Elliot's Big Day

Yesterday was a HUGE day for Elliot!  We have been working for a while at getting him to grab onto things and he's been doing great, but yesterday was the first time he started reaching for things to grab them.  Now when he grabs on to a rattle he will have it in one hand, then will hold it with both hands, and sometimes even switches hands!  It was a huge difference in just a few days, so that is exciting.
We took out Elliot's newborn insert on the car seat because he doesn't need it anymore!  We also moved the shoulder straps up to the second notch on the car seat and now it is so much easier to strap him in and he seems more comfortable.
Last but certainly not least, Elliot rolled over for the first time yesterday!!!  I was so excited for him, I admit that I screamed just a little bit.  It was completely unexpected!  We haven't been as great at tummy time as we probably should be, but yesterday I decided we should try a little.  He immediately held his head up as high as I had ever seen him do, then wiggled around for a bit before he rolled over!  It was awesome!  I clapped and cheered him on and he laid there on his back like "what on earth just happened?!"  Haha.  I tried twice more to get him to roll over again so I could get it on video in case he didn't want to perform for Derek when he got home, but he wasn't interested.  After Derek got home, I told him the big news and we did more tummy time.  He rolled over three more times!  It was fabulous.  So glad Derek got to see it!  Elliot was in the mood to show off apparently!  It was the first time we've ever put him on his tummy and he didn't fuss.  What a big boy!
We went to the mall last night with one sole purpose: find a blessing outfit or go home and order one online.  First stop, Burlington Coat Factory.  Not only did we find THE cutest blessing outfit ever, but we also found another church outfit that he'll be able to wear!  I'm so glad we found them - I had been jealous of all the pretty dresses little girls were wearing to church and I couldn't find cute baby boy church outfits!  Now we're set.

LOL, Emily. Derek ran a 5k race that morning and it was a race where you run through the mud and go over obstacles and fun stuff like that. They also dressed up, so his team that he ran on were prison inmates. :)
